Reopening after COVID-19 Lockdown
We’ve had a quick think and decided that rushing to try to open our Taphouse for draught service on July 4th is not a good idea. The safety of our staff and customers comes first. In response to the government’s easing of lockdown we are going to change a few things, but for the time being the Taphouse will not offer draught sales. Meanwhile, we’re getting on with some building improvement works and a few internal changes, so that when our Taphouse does return it will be better than ever.
So here’s what we’re going to do…
We’re still offering online sales from our web shop, with 4 main modes of getting beers into the hands of drinkers. They are:
Courier delivery around the UK.
Collection from the brewery: between 12 and 3pm each weekday.
Free direct delivery in our local YO17 area (this happens daily now, but will move to Tuesdays only from July 4th – for reasons that will become obvious below).
Free direct delivery into York City postcodes on Fridays, c/o our #ThatFridayFeeling initiative with Bad Seed Brewery.
But after July 4th there will be a couple of changes…
The first is, as mentioned above, that we will reduce our free local YO17 delivery service to Tuesdays only, beginning Tuesday July 7th. The second is that we will open the Taphouse for off-sales on Fridays and Saturdays to begin with. So, starting on Friday 10th and 11th of July, the Taphouse will be open for off-sales between 2 and 7pm each day.
Looking ahead, we’ll be preparing the Taphouse for draught sales as soon as we feel that we can serve safely. It’s likely that we will begin by offering draught sales at tables outside the Taphouse, in the brewery forecourt, to best safeguard all attendees. By the time we get back to indoor draught sales, the Taphouse building should have been suitably upgraded and spruced!
We hope you understand and we look forward to seeing you all again soon! Among other things, we’ve got a free-pouring Crowler Club Party to get on with!
